Read Reviews Like An Analyst + More Free Resources

If you’ve been following along on this blog you know I’ve covered many topics in and around the digital marketing industry.
From alignment to differentiation to systems, metrics and improvement – helpful tips, reflections and wisdom from the past 17 years working in the digital world and search marketing.
Over the next few months I’ll be rolling out downloadable resource PDFs based on those posts — informational and actionable worksheets that will allow small business owners to put many of those thoughts directly into motion.
Starting with two of our most popular posts: Expectation Set, Expectation Met: The Fine Art Of Expectation Setting & Connecting The Dots: Unraveling Digital Spaces For Small Businesses I & II below are a few quick descriptions and what to expect from their associated worksheets.
Read Reviews Like An Analyst
After years of studying online reviews, we noticed that many small business owners don’t extract the goldmine of information those can contain.
The Expectation Set, Expectation Met worksheet is an incredibly short – but effective – way to rethink the way you read reviews.
Framed around negative reviews, it provides a really simple formula to use that feedback to pinpoint the exact places that need attention during a customer/client’s experience – based on the role of expectation setting in providing service.
How Everything Fits Together
The maze of digital platforms for small businesses to choose from is riddled with confusion, so it’s difficult to know where to start.
The Connecting The Dots: Unraveling Digital Spaces worksheet provides small business owners a “top-down” view of things – based on relative function – of each platform.
This provides a simple mental model not only for current platforms, but also provides a framework to slot new ones as they become more popular.
It also includes many pitfalls when it comes to different layers in the architecture – and how to fix them if they happen to fall into them.
More Coming Soon
I’ll be working on making these current worksheets even more valuable in the future, but expect more resources like these to be released in the coming months.
Small changes over time can go a long way in the digital world – and these new worksheets can provide much of the foundation for the actions needed for being remembered more often in a never-ending sea of digital noise.
Be sure to check out our resource section for regular updates (I’ll also email them if you’re already on my blog updates list).
